A
pilot program for EDI (Electronic
Data interchange) is in the
testing phase with a limited
number of distributors. Our
plan is to offer EDI to more
distributors as our internal
resources permit. Full implementation
of EDI is slated for some
time in 1997.

To help maintain
a consistent corporate image,,,
Niagara has developed a manual
that provides guidelines for
the correct usage and reproduction
of our new logo and logo type.
This manual includes camera-ready
clip art sheets and a diskette
with the new logo images in
digitized files ready for
use in computer graphics layout
and production. The new manual

Niagara
Cutter has been the industry leader
in the development and promotion
of thin film coatings for advanced
toot productivity. To reflect
this effort, we are introducing
Niagara Cutter Microshield Coatings,
a name that illustrates the continued
advancements of Niagara Cutter
coatings. There are now three
coatings available on all Niagara
Cutter products. Microshield GP
(TiN) is an excellent general
purpose coating for a wide range
of machining applications. Microshield
HP (TiCN) is the coating to be
specified for high speed and aggressive
feed applications. Microshield
HH and HM (TiAIN) are the newest
Niagara Cutter coatings. Microshield
HH is recommended for HSS, cobalt,
and solid carbide end mill applications.
Microshield HM is designed specifically
for solid carbide end mills in
machining applications where the
work material is 45 to 65 Rc.
Microshield HH and HM provide
a high level of thermal stability
that can take the heat and thermal
stresses that occur in milling
heat-treated and exotic materials.
Manufacturing demands more productivity
in metal removal processes and
Niagara Cutter Microshield Coatings,
along with superior substrate
and tool geometry, will meet those
demands.
