It was more than 43 years ago that Roger W. Bollier began Niagara Cutter as a tool resharpening and modification business. Today, Niagara Cutter manufactures thousands of end mills, milling cutters and carbide tools from high tech manufacturing facilities in Penrnsyvania and Massachusetts. Niagara Cutter products are known for high quality standards and innovative product features that add productivity at the spindle. Although Niagara has grown through product innovation, many things at Niagara Cutter remain the same as they were in 1954.

Niagara is one of the few companies in the metal cutting industry that remains independently owned and operated. The ownership and management practices a hands on philosophy that revolves around a continuous improvement of products, manufacturing operations and services to meet the needs of the customers. The management team is backed by 12 Field Sales Representative Agencies and a national network of stocking distributors to guarantee a high level of service and support to the end user. As the new century approaches, Niagara will continue to do business as it has for nearly 50 years.

New A337 Literature Now Available A full color eight page sales brochure describing the benefits and listing the sizes of the new line of A337 high helix end mills for aluminum, is now available. In addition to the new A337 end mills, this new literature also lists other existing Niagara Cutter end mills designed for milling aluminum and other nonferrous metals. This new literature provides an excellent sales tool for specific metal removal applications. Computer Upgrade Niagara has upgraded its IBM AS/400 mainframe computer system with three times more processing power. This will allow us to provide faster order entry, inventory and delivery information

Microshield» HH & HM Coatings Now Available on All Niagara Cutter Products The benefits of Microshield HH & HM (TiAIN) are now available on all Niagara Cutter standard products. Microshield HH & HM represent slight variations in TiAIN coatings. Microshield HH is designed for greater metal removal productivity where high heat is encountered. The HM variation is ideal for machining hard materials. Both HH & HM represent the latest in thin film PVD coatings providing longer tool life and greater productivity at the spindle. It is important to note that there are many applications where Microshield GP (TiN) and HP (TiCN) still represent the best coating selection. Contact your Niagara Cutter sales representative for assistance in matching the correct coating application.

Upgrading Quality Control
The newest addition to the quality control department at Niagara is a Laser Optic Measuring machine. This sophisticated machine uses laser optic technology and trigonometry calculations to provide measurements of critical tool geometry to values of plus or minus two microns. A printed certificate is available to document all the measurement values. In addition, this new machine is used to calibrate other measuring devices used throughout the plant to strengthen the entire quality control process.
