FALL 1999 VOLUME 4 NUMBER 2

TwoNewRoughersAdded
ToELITECarbideLine

The ELITE Series of solid carbide end mills has been expanded to include two styles of roughing tools. These high performance end mills have been designed to handle today's most demanding metal removal applications. The new additions are the AR330 Three Flute Rougher for aluminum and nonferrous alloys and the SR420 Multi Flute Rougher for steel, stainless steels and high temperature alloys. To achieve maximum performance with ELITE roughing end mills, Niagara recommends the use of Microshield (TM) coatings. The AR330 for aluminum is recommended with Microshield HP TiCN coating and the SR420 for steels should be used with Microshield HM TiAlN. ELITE roughing end mills feature the same tough ultra fine grain carbide that is used in all ELITE Series tools. ELITE roughing end mills allow for maximum metal removal rates with the longest possible tool life.

Technical Training Available
In-House or On-Site

As part of our ongoing commitment to support our distributors in servicing the metalworking industry, Niagara Cutter has established an educational training program. Training seminars are held at the Niagara end mill manufacturing facility in Reynoldsville, PA. In addition, Niagara has prepared a program that can be taken "on the road" and presented at any distributor location. Program topics include Tool Coatings, Geometry, Speeds and Feeds and Manufacturing issues. The training seminars held at the PA plant include at-the-spindle testing and live machining demonstrations. If you are interested in a Niagara Cutter training program, please contact your regional Niagara representative.

Updated AL599 Literature Hot Off the Presses

Niagara Cutter has updated its literature of high performance end mills for milling aluminum. The new AL599 brochure, formerly titled AL597, now includes six additional styles of end mills. Added to the high speed steel A337 Series of tools are: the ACB337 Chipbreaker/ Rougher and the ALL337 Left Hand Finishing End Mill. The ACB337 is an excellent low cost roughing end mill, ideal for long axial cuts. The ALL337 is a left hand helix finishing end mill designed for "mirror image" applications.

The updated AL599 literature also includes ELITE high performance solid carbide end mills for machining aluminum, including the A245 two flute, A345 three flute and AB245 two flute ball end, as well as the new ELITE AR330 Rougher.

NEW! AL599 Literature Download. Now you can download AL599 and other Niagara literature from the Niagara Cutter Web site. Just go to www.niagaracutter.com and click on "product literature."
