President's
Message
In
today's electronic world of e-mall,
video conferencing, arid taxes,
business communications are more
digitized and less personalized.
That is why I am looking forward
to the upcoming 1996 IDA/ASMMA
Spring Convention in Boston. It
gives our management and sales
staff the opportunity to meet
facc-to-face with of the fine
distributors that sell Niagara
Cutter Products. It is a great
opportunity to exchange vievs
on state of the business climate.
It is also an opportunity to tell
our distributors about improvements
we have made at Niagara Cutter.
These Improvements will make us
more efficient, and streamline
some of the day-to-day business
procedures. So, if you plan to
be in Boston, be sure to stop
by our booth for some good old-fashioned
live communications. Sherwood

Niagara
Cutter Announces
Improvements in Efficiency and
Productivity
In a
move to upgrade service to its
distributors, Niagara Cutter has
developed a comprehensive plan
to centralize ordering arid customer
service, consolidate warehousing
arid implement a new online computer
system to increase response times.
Now, distributors will be able
to find all standard Niagara Cutter
items within a centralized warehousing
system in the company's Pennsylvania
facilities. This concentration
of all the product lines will
streamline the ordering process,
shorten shipping times, reduce
paperwork and maximize efficiency
in filling orders. To make ordering
even easier for distributors,
Niagara Cutter has consolidated
its Inside Sales Department and
is providing toll free numbers
to call or fax.
Phone:
800-861-6111
Fax: 800-472-2197
Whether
it's regarding end mills, milling
cutters, carbide tools or specialty
tools, one call will provide the
instant, convenient service that
distributors have been asking
for.
On January 1, 1996, Niagara Cutter's
powerful new computer system,
based on the IBM AS/400 technology,
became operational. This incredible
new system is just one quarter
the size of the former unit, while
providing over four times the
data capability in keeping with
the company 's commitment to working
faster, better, and smarter, the
new computer system offers greater
responsiveness in service. and
provides instant, detailed information
about inventory arid production
to our customer service representatives.
Distributors can obtain a detailed
sales history analysis with just
one call. Orders can now be immediately
acknowledged and returned goods
authorizations can be faxed out
instantly. By providing fast answers
to distributors questions, the
orline system decreases confusion,
call-back delays, and cumbersome
paper files.
We are also working to expand
the on-line system to full Electronic
Data Interchange (EDI) facilities
during 1996. Look for more news
on the rollout of EDI in the Fall
edition of the Niagara Cutter
Cutting Edge News.
